An homage to all the bathroom floors I’ve once wept upon; thank you for your comfort.
A single stretch of canvas folded, taken apart, woven, crocheted and knitted.
A 1:1 scale replica of my bathroom floor. Then placed and used as the actual floor for two months. Left are the traces of own filth, hair, makeup, and bleeding hair-dye.
The grounds we step on everyday and rarely pay attention to; I've had a strange affinity towards since a young age. It felt as though they were the only things I could rely on to stay the same amongst the chaos of ever-changing life. Through recreating the bathroom floor, I'm able to reimagine the bittersweet memories and comfort that I once found with them.
